While we are supportive of the need for renewable energy, we absolutely do not support the desecration of our rich rural landscape and heritage that surrounds Lilleshall.
That is why solar panels should be prioritised on brownfield land and commercial sites rather than allowing vital farmland and open countryside to be transformed into barren industrial landscapes.
We strongly believe that a massive 150 acre solar farm at Lilleshall will not only damage the rich biodiversity and wildlife, which has surrounded us for generations, but also the production of crops and our future food security.
We also believe that the character of our unique village and community is at stake and urge Telford & Wrekin Council to reject the proposed planning application for a huge solar farm, which will see our fields and ancient rights of way, surrounded by metal fencing, security cameras, a large sub-station, and the equivalent of 100 football pitches worth of dark panels endlessly obliterating a landscape enjoyed for centuries.
